A parked staff bus has been set on fire near Dhaka’s Badda U-loop, police say.

The bus was torched around 8pm on Saturday, according to Badda Police Sub Inspector (SI) Hasanur Rahman.

He said the staff bus was parked at the spot when unidentified people set it on fire and fled.

Senior police officers are at the scene and are looking into who set the bus on fire, SI Rahman added.

About an hour earlier, two passenger buses were set on fire in Mirpur.

Multiple crude bomb blasts were then reported in Jatrabari.
